New report: Navigating the System: Advice provision for young refugees and migrants, May 2012

This report by the Migrant Children's Project looks at the complex administrative and legal processes that separated children have to navigate and the range of professionals who can offer advice and guidance to them. The report finds that many legal advice and support services are under strain, facing serious financial challenges and an uncertain future, putting these children and young people at risk
Seeking Support: a guide to the rights and entitlements of separated children
Seeking Support outlines the rights of refugee and migrant children in England, and provides advice to professionals on how to support young people in accessing those rights.
This fourth edition of the guide has been comprehensively updated and expanded from the first, second and third editions published in 2003, 2005 and 2009 respectively. National contact details of agencies that can support separated children are provided at the end of the guide.
As legislation and policy are subject to frequent change, readers are advised to refer to this website for regular updates. If you would like to be notified of updates, please sign up to the Coram Children’s Legal Centre Migrant Children’s Project newsletter at www.childrenslegalcentre.com

The Migrant Children's Project aims to ensure that refugee, asylum seeking and migrant children are able to obtain the services and assistance to which they are legally entitled. We provide detailed advice on their rights and entitlements, and on the impact of immigration law on services to children. We also campaign to ensure that laws and policies defend their rights and extend the protections available to them.
